Frequently Asked Questions
Concierge medicine is an exciting and rapidly growing model for providing health care without the costly and time-consuming bureaucracy of insurance companies. Instead, our patients pay us directly through a convenient and affordable membership plan. This allows us to keep our practice small and provide you with highly accessible, personalized care when you need it. It’s like having your doctor available at the touch of a button. Our focus on ensuring a strong and satisfying doctor-patient relationship is the key to helping you stay healthy.
It’s the way the medical system should work!
Having insurance and having access to quality healthcare are completely different. Insurance is not healthcare. When you join MACMED you pay for the personalized service that is not available in fee-for-service or Medicare Advantage practices.
Because of greater convenience and better accessibility, you may find more peace of mind in relation to healthcare and find a reduced need for visits to specialists and the emergency room.
You would use your insurance for these higher cost medical services. Dr. Cromer and his staff will do their best to direct you to facilities that are in your network.
We are happy to attempt to obtain prior approval for any medications or diagnostic studies your insurance requires. However, Dr. Cromer is not an in-network physician on any insurance plans. So, if your plan is a Medicare Advantage plan or an HMO that requires authorizations to be done only by in-network physicians, we would not be able to do this. You would need to see the primary care doctor to whom you were assigned with that plan, pay the office visit co-pay, and obtain authorization from them.
Adding MACMED to your benefits package could save up to 30% of your total healthcare costs, while saving your employees out-of-pocket expenses because MAMCED does not charge copays or deductibles. Certain services that typically incur charges in fee-for-service settings are covered by the membership fee. This will help your employees stay happy, healthy, and productive.
If after being a member of MACMED for 90 days you would like to cancel your membership, you may do so without penalty if you give us a 30-day notice. We will refund memberships paid for the full year at a prorated rate. Should you decide to re-enroll with MACMED in the future, the initiation fee will be required again.
Yes. One of the most important aspects of concierge medicine is limiting the practice size to be able to devote more time and energy to each patient. When MACMED attains its full practice capacity, a waiting list will be implemented.
